Matka, also referred to as raw silk and silk linen, is a more casual silk than taffeta and dupioni without the iridescence. It is a rough handloomed 100% silk fabric made from thick yarns that include slubs and irregularities that give the fabric a unique character.

Resembling tweed in texture, Matka has a much more pronounced knubby weave than Katan. Matka has a very soft hand (feel) with a very natural, organic look. Matka fabric drapes beautifully and is the choice of customers interested in a less formal look.
